At Advanced Facialdontics® we are dedicated to treating symptoms caused by a lack of craniofacial development, with comprehensive dental appliance therapy.

Nature wants symmetry and balance. Take a look in the mirror and see how symmetrical you think you are?

Is one eye lower than the other? Is one ear is lower? Does the corner of your mouth turn down on one side? Chances are you will notice which side of your face is underdeveloped and aging more rapidly.
It is a fascinating fact that our face and cranium actually grow and develop around soft tissue. The cranium grows around the brain, the orbit of the eye grows around the soft tissue of the eye and our face grows around our breathing tube, the pharynx. Our growth is also influenced by the tongue’s placement.
All these factors have a crucial influence on the development and health of our body.

When we breathe through our nose correctly the positive pressure of the air develops our breathing tube, the pharynx, and our face. When we swallow correctly with the tongue up against the palate our faces have a greater possibility to develop to their full potential. When we chew hard food like primitive man did the bone structure of the face has a better chance to develop to its genetic potential.

What our appliance therapy is about
Generating proper breathing, tongue placement and chewing for better health. Some indications of the lack of cranial facial development include:

  • Sleep disorders

  • Breathing disorders

  • Jaw joint pain (TMJ)

  • Muscle headache pain

  • Migraine headache

  • Teeth clenching and grinding (bruxism)

  • Upper airway resistance (UARS)

  • Irritable bowel syndrome

  • Mild sleep apnea

  • Lack of mid face volume

  • Premature aging

  • Fatigue

  • Mouth breathing & bad breath

If you have any of these symptoms, you should be evaluated by a medical and dental professional.
